Hal publishes widely in print and on-line media.
His essays, opinion pieces, and feature stories
appear regularly in many publications,
most recently in Midstream, Carnegie Results,
Seven Seas, and Ecotones.

He has written two novels,
The Escapement and Echo's Version.
His short story "Nonfinito" appears in
The Long Meanwhile an anthology
(Hourglass Books).

Hal lives in Brooklyn and is working on a new novel, West of the Equator.
